Support Grays Harbor College Through a Charitable IRA Gift in 2024

This image displays a road sign styled like a highway shield, featuring the word "RETIREMENT" in white text on a red background at the top. Below it, "IRA" is displayed prominently in large white letters on a blue background. Beneath "IRA," the phrase "Qualified Charitable Distribution" is written in smaller white text. The sign is set against a bright sky filled with white clouds.

Did you know that your charitable giving can have a lasting impact on both your financial wellbeing and the future of students at Grays Harbor College? By making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) from your IRA, you can meet your required minimum distribution (RMD) obligations while lowering your taxable income—all while making a meaningful contribution to the Grays Harbor College Foundation.

If you’re 72 or older, you are required to take an RMD from your traditional IRA. Normally, these withdrawals are taxed, but with a QCD, you can direct your distribution to a charity like the Grays Harbor College Foundation. Your gift not only reduces your taxable income but also directly supports students, academic programs, and critical initiatives at the college.

As you plan your charitable contributions for 2024, remember that the deadline for making a QCD gift is December 31. This win-win opportunity allows you to satisfy your RMD requirements while helping our community thrive.
