Pat Clemons, the power of unrestricted giving to meet emerging needs
Patricia Clemons, better known as Pat, was a 1944 graduate of Montesano High School. Her college career took her to GHC then CWU where she graduated with her BA in Education in 1949.
At the U of Hawaii in 1957, she earned a MA in Education, then in 1974 a MA in Library Studies. Pat spent her 30 years in education with the Montesano School District, 20 as a seventh grade teacher and 10 as an elementary librarian. On May 30, 2021, Pat unexpectedly passed away at the age of 94. With a heart for her alma mater and the education of her community, Pat planned an unrestricted gift in her estate to the Grays Harbor College Foundation. “An unrestricted gift provides no limitations in how the donation is used,” explains Mary Nelson, GHC Foundation Treasurer. “It is a way for donors to support Grays Harbor College and its students, with the Foundation allocating their gift to the areas of greatest need.”
Pat’s unrestricted gift is a reflection of her desire to support the emerging needs of students, the College, and our community.
