Harkonen Baseball Scholarship Empowers Future Success
Kyle Cope, a standout student and athlete from South Medford High School in Medford, Oregon, has expressed his heartfelt thanks for receiving the Harkonen Baseball Scholarship. This scholarship, generously provided by David and Joanne Harkonen, is a significant support for Kyle as he prepares to continue his education and baseball career at Grays Harbor College.
In his thank you letter, Kyle highlighted the scholarship’s impact on his ability to focus on his studies and athletics without the stress of financial concerns. “This scholarship will help me immensely in the stresses of paying for college,” Kyle shared. “It allows me to concentrate more on my schooling and baseball rather than working to pay for college.”
Kyle, who boasts a weighted GPA of 4.15 and is a Valedictorian, is also a dedicated baseball player and enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and watching movies in his free time. He is excited about the similarities between Aberdeen and his hometown of Medford and looks forward to joining the Grays Harbor College community.
His choice to attend Grays Harbor College stems from his belief that it will offer him the best opportunity to advance in baseball and eventually transfer to a four-year university. Kyle plans to major in accounting and pursue a CPA license, with aspirations of exploring various career opportunities in the future.
