From GHC Student to VP: Alum at Green Diamond Resource Champions Support for Forestry Program
Green Diamond Resource Company, a fifth generation, family-owned forest products company donated $20,000 toward equipment for the GHC Natural Resources and Forest Resource Management Programs. The gift was championed by GHC Alum Brian Sayler who now serves as the Vice President and General Manager, Northwest Timberlands.
The gift will acquire a lab drying oven for fuel materials studies and propagation work. The gift will also acquire (4) additional relascopes which will allow students to work in pairs and not groups, which will more closely reflect the workplace experience.
Mr. Sayler began his journey at GHC as a student. Now he is a supporter and perhaps a future employer of the students currently pursuing their Associates and Bachelor Degrees in Forestry.
“GHC was the launching point for my career in forestry and I’m honored to support my alma mater and the education of future foresters that will work in our industry,” expressed Sayler.
