Donors Equip Grays Harbor College for the Future: Training Tomorrow’s Automotive Workforce

The slogan, “this is not your father’s Oldsmobile,” has never been truer than in today’s high-tech auto shops. With demand for automotive technicians projected to grow 1% annually over the next decade, Automotive Technology Faculty member Jesse Kangas-Hanes is dedicated to equipping GHC students with the latest tools and training to handle all types of vehicles.

To meet these evolving needs, the College turned to the GHC Foundation and its generous supporters. Among these supporters were longtime friends of GHC’s trade programs, Pat and the late Mary Ellen Hughes. Their significant gift enabled the purchase of a state-of-the-art front-end alignment machine, essential for modern automotive training. Additionally, the Marian J. Weatherwax Trust provided funding for an electric car and batteries, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology.

These contributions ensure that Grays Harbor College remains at the forefront of automotive education, preparing students for the evolving demands of the industry.

By contributing to the GHC Foundation, you can help us continue to provide students with the relevant equipment and resources they need to succeed. Join us in shaping the future of automotive technology by making a donation today.
